OBJECTIVES

1. Develop holistic web-based modules for numerical methods that

  • Provide a contextual background for the pre-requisite material

  • Motivate students to learn fundamentals and related topics

  • Use multiple platforms to present topics

  • Allow self-assessment at every step of the learning process.

2.  Maximize student interest and learning by

  • Ensuring quality and impact of content of the project through variety of assessment instruments;

  • Providing customization of content based on engineering major and mathematical package;

  • Offering convenience through anytime-anywhere web access during one's degree program;

  • Presenting selection among wide variety of numerical techniques; and

  • Impacting broadly by reaching students and faculty of a Numerical Methods course as well as of engineering courses where numerical methods and mathematical packages are used.

3.    Provide dissemination

  • so that others can use the resources through avenues such as websites, YouTube, Wordpress Blogs, Twitter, mathematical package companies, advertisements, presentations, books and journal publications.
